1. Do I have to switch from my existing disability provider to The Standard? Not at all. The Etiwanda Teacher Association is always exploring options that will beneficial to Etiwanda Teachers. After researching the various disability programs, “The Standard” offered much more in comparison. Thus we are presenting teachers with this option during the Open Enrollment campaign. Teachers with a pre-existing condition are eligible to enroll during this time.
2. If I switched over to “The Standard”, how do I stop deductions from my paycheck? Teachers may obtain a “Payroll Voluntary Deduction Form” by visiting the Etiwanda District website under the link “Open Enrollment”. Once you have completed this form, submit it to Payroll Dept. by the 10th of the month. The deduction will cease the following month. 3. Can anyone attend the ETA Rep Council Meetings? Yes, all Etiwanda Teachers are invited and welcome to attend ETA Rep Council Meetings.
4. I have questions regarding my membership, who do I contact? The ETA secretary is able to assist you in determining your membership status.
5.Where can I obtain a copy of the current contract? The current contract may be obtained online from the ETA website, within the site ETA binder or from a school site rep.
6. When do I become tenured? Teachers become tenured on the first day of their 3rd year with probationary 2 status.
7. How are assignment changes or transfers decided? Employee initiated transfer request are based upon careful consideration of the unit members qualifications, experience, certification, quality of service and contribution the unit member can make in the new positions. Employer initiated transfers may be made at any time by the district for any or all the following reasons - balance certificated unit members of the district or school, changes in enrollment, quality of service, improvement of learning conditions or opportunity to evaluate unit members. Both employee and employer initiated transfers are determined by the needs and efficient operation of the district (Contract - Article XIII)
8. Am I allowed to cash out benefits? Yes, unit members electing cash-in-lieu of benefits may provide proof satisfactory to the district of comparable current coverage. Cash-in-lieu of benefits are limited to a maximum amount annually for certain criteria's (see Article XVII). Please contact personnel department for further details.
9. What do I do if I have a serious concern or grievance? The first step is to always try to address your concerns with your site administrator. If your concerns are not resolved, speak to your site rep council or contact a member of the executive board. |
